In the
early 1970’s, the trucking industry was deregulated by the federal government. As
a result, products in this country were able to be transported without first obtaining
operating authority from the government. With this deregulation, our Company’s founder,
L. Morgan Hall, III, saw an opportunity for a viable business. Hall envisioned an
organization which would provide companies over-the-road truck drivers and the management
teams needed to operate their private fleets. This vision became a reality when,
in 1975, Trans Fleet Enterprises, IMSCO’s
predecessor, commenced operations
in Columbia, Missouri. It was during this time Trans Fleet Enterprises began providing
drivers to several of its first major customers.
Throughout the early 1980’s, IMSCO continued to do business as Trans Fleet Enterprises,
focusing strictly on providing staff for the transportation field. Then, in 1982,
at the request of a customer, our Company began operating a small pick-pack operation in
Albion, Indiana. This marked the first time that IMSCO operated a distribution facility.
As a result of this venture’s success, the Company made a strategic decision to
expand its business operations into warehouse management, and IMSCO’s distribution
operations have been expanding ever since. Today, the Company is based in Augusta,
Georgia and does business in over forty states. Operations are divided nearly equally
between transportation and distribution accounts.
At IMSCO, we are proud of our history and want our customers and employees to share in that pride. While we honor our past,
however, we also strive for continued improvement in all areas
of our business.
